The game in Bangkok was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Indonesian Satria Muda (6-7) played at the court of 7th ranked Thailand Thailand Slammers (4-9). Satria Muda did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 89-72 on Wednesday. Satria Muda looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Filipino forward Allan Salangsang (196-76) who scored 24 points. American power forward Steve Thomas (204-81, college: Middle Tenn.St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds. Five Satria Muda players scored in double figures. American center Dee Proby (208-88, college: Oklahoma City) produced 32 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import forward Calvin Williams (206-87, college: SE Missouri St.) added 17 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Thailand Slammers' coach rotated twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Satria Muda moved-up to fourth place. Thailand Slammers lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Satria Muda will meet bottom-ranked Saigon Heat (#8) on the road in the next round. Thailand Slammers will play against Singapore Slingers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
