Regular Season Round 11: Bangkok C. - KL Dragons 85-81

The game between third ranked Malaysian KL Dragons (7-5) and fifth ranked Thailand Bangkok Cobras (5-7) was the most important one in the last round on Wednesday night. KL Dragons were defeated by Bangkok Cobras in a tough game in Bangkok 81-85. The hosts trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 46-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. 29 personal fouls committed by KL Dragons helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American power forward Gentry Lewis (206-81, college: Philander Smith) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds. Filipino guard Jai Reyes (173) helped adding 20 points. Lewis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Bangkok Cobras players scored in double figures. American forward Tiras Wade (200-81, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Interperformances) responded with 30 points and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and the other American import center Brian Williams (208-87, college: Tennessee, agency: VVG Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Bangkok Cobras maintains fifth place with 5-7 record. KL Dragons lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with five games lost. Bangkok Cobras are looking forward to face league's second-placed Petron Blaze in Manila in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KL Dragons will play at home against the league's leader Philippine Patriots in Manila and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
