ASEAN League top team - Filipino Philippine Patriots (10-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat eighth ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat (3-9) 73-57. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Philippine Patriots's pressure prevailed and they won that period 23-12 extending their advantage to 16 points. Philippine Patriots forced 19 Saigon Heat turnovers. It was a quality performance for American center Nakiea Miller (204-79, college: Iona) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Francis Adriano (188-75) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. Philippine Patriots' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American center Jonathan Jones (211-79, agency: TSS Management) came up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import forward Jahmar Thorpe (198-84, college: Houston) added 15 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Saigon Heat in the defeat. Philippine Patriots have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 10-2 record. Saigon Heat at the other side stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Philippine Patriots will play against KL Dragons (#3) in Kuala Lumpur in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Saigon Heat will play at home against Satria Muda (#4) in Jakarta and hopes to get back on the winning track.
