ProA top team - Mitteldeutscher BC (20-5) managed to deliver another win on Friday. This time they beat eighth ranked BG Karlsruhe (12-13) 82-68. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of BG Karlsruhe. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-68. Mitteldeutscher BC outrebounded BG Karlsruhe 37-26 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Arizona Reid (196-86, college: High Point) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Steve Wachalski (203-83) helped adding 13 points and 11 rebounds. Four Mitteldeutscher BC players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Martin Samarco (191-85, college: Bowling Green) with 17 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import guard Domonic Jones (186-81, college: VCU) scored 17 points. Mitteldeutscher BC maintains first place with 20-5 record. BG Karlsruhe at the other side keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Heidelberg and ETB Wohnbau. Mitteldeutscher BC are looking forward to face NBC (#11) in Nurnberg in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BG Karlsruhe will play on the road against Leitershofen in Diedorf and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
