There was a minor upset when 4th ranked Levharti Chomutov (14-22) lost on the road to sixth ranked Inter Bratislava (10-26) 76-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Inter Bratislava. Levharti Chomutov was better in second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Inter Bratislava dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Levharti Chomutov's 36. Inter Bratislava forced 20 Levharti Chomutov turnovers and outrebounded them 49-32 including a 39-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Inter Bratislava looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Levharti Chomutov's players. It was a good game for Irish-Serbian power forward Mihajlo Pesic (206-81, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Bosnian center Stjepan Gavran (206-78) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Four Inter Bratislava players scored in double figures. American guard Patrick Pope (183-81, college: St.Augustine) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and his fellow American import guard Rob Lowery (188-87, college: Dayton) added 15 points in the effort for Levharti Chomutov. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Inter Bratislava maintains sixth position in A2 with 10-26 record. Newly promoted Levharti Chomutov keeps the fourth place with 22 games lost. Inter Bratislava will face league's leader NH Ostrava at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Levharti Chomutov will play against Basketbal Svitavy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
