The game in Massagno supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Geneve Lions (17-6) played at the court of 8th ranked SAM Massagno (3-19). Geneve Lions smashed SAM Massagno 100-54 on Sunday. The game without a history. Geneve Lions led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding SAM Massagno to just 7 points in third quarter. Geneve Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to SAM Massagno's 28. Geneve Lions forced 19 SAM Massagno turnovers and outrebounded them 40-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by SAM Massagno's players. Senegalese power forward Babacar Toure (205-85) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) for the winners and naturalized Senegalese forward Jules Aw (200-86) chipped in 8 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. SAM Massagno's coach Milutin Nikolic already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Geneve Lions maintains third place with 17-6 record having just one points less than leader Lugano Tigers. SAM Massagno lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 19 games lost. Geneve Lions will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. SAM Massagno will play against Fribourg (#4) and hope to secure a win.
