Regular Season Round 12: Thailand S. - Singapore S. 70-77

The biggest surprise of round 12 in ASEAN League was Singapore guest Singapore Slingers' (#6) road victory over Thailand Thailand Slammers (#7) 77-70 on Sunday evening. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Singapore Slingers made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was power forward Louis Graham (205-84, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. Center Kyle Jeffers (207-85, college: Oregon St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Calvin Williams (206-87, college: SE Missouri St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points, 16 rebounds and 5 blocks and center Dee Proby (208-88, college: Oklahoma City) added 18 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Thailand Slammers' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Singapore Slingers maintains sixth position with 5-8 record. Thailand Slammers lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with nine games lost. Singapore Slingers are looking forward to face league's leader Philippine Patriots in Manila in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Thailand Slammers will play at home against KL Dragons (#3) in Kuala Lumpur and are hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
