Regular Season Round 34: Cherkasy - Azovmash 65-76

There was no surprise when 13th ranked Cherkasy (8-26) was defeated at home by third ranked Azovmash (23-11) 76-65. The game was mostly controlled by Azovmash. Cherkasy was better in third quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Liberian-American forward Othello Hunter (203-86, college: Ohio St., agency: David Lee services) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds. American point guard Jerome Randle (178-87, college: California) contributed with 20 points and 4 steals for the winners. Four Azovmash players scored in double figures. Nigerian center Kenny Adeleke (205-83, college: Hartford) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds and Montenegrin guard Ivan Koljevic (185-84, agency: New Trend Agency) added 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Cherkasy. Azovmash have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 23-11 record having just one points less than leader Budivelnyk. Cherkasy lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth place with 26 games lost. Azovmash will play against Hoverla (#8) in Frankivsk in the next round where they are favorite. Cherkasy will play at home against Kryvbasbasket (#10) in Krivoy Rog and hopes to get back on the winning track.
