Americana were close to the first defeat in the season but managed to save the game in overtime to take 1-0 lead over Santo Andre. Santo Andre was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 24-15 third quarter run of Americana. They tied the game at the end of regular time. Then they were better in overtime eventually winning that period 9-7. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Karla Martins (172-78) who helped to win the game recording 26 points. The former international center Mama Dantas (191-78) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Americana's coach Luiz Augusto Zanon allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Swingman Ariadna Felipe (179-83) answered with 21 points and 6 rebounds and international forward Micaela Martins (180-79, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Santo Andre. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
