Regular Season Round 25: KK Swiecie - Wilki Morskie 76-74

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked KK Swiecie (11-12) edged at home 10th ranked Wilki Morskie (7-16) 76-74 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 76-74. KK Swiecie forced 21 Wilki Morskie turnovers. Strangely Wilki Morskie outrebounded KK Swiecie 45-32 including 17 on the offensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when KK Swiecie made 9 blocks. It was a very good performance for forward Mikolaj Grod (194-89) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Zbigniew Malinowski (185-84) contributed with 17 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Radoslaw Bojko (196-91) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 13 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals and guard Piotr Knowa (176-91) added 24 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Wilki Morskie. Five KK Swiecie and four Wilki Morskie players scored in double figures. KK Swiecie maintains eighth place in Group A with 11-12 record. Wilki Morskie lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 16 games lost. KK Swiecie will face league's leader Open Florentyna in Pleszew in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Wilki Morskie will play at home against Trefl II Sopot (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
