Regular Season Round 27: Challans - Charleville 74-85

Leader Charleville-Mezieres delivered the twentieth first victory. This time they beat 10th ranked Vendee Challans (14-13) 85-74. The game was mostly controlled by Charleville-Mezieres. Vendee Challans was better in third quarter 23-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vendee Challans was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for center Cyril Guillarme (206-84) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Fabien Calvez (187-84, college: Evansville) contributed with 18 points and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Fabien Herard (198-79) answered with 28 points and 7 rebounds and guard Julien Geay (193-85) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Vendee Challans. Four Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. Charleville-Mezieres have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 21-6 record. Vendee Challans at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Brest and Lievin. Charleville-Mezieres will play against Roche (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Vendee Challans will play against Sorgues and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
