Seventh-ranked BK Loko Plzen (9-29) gave a tough game to fifth ranked BK Usti nad Labem (14-24) on Sunday. BK Usti nad Labem managed to secure only two-point victory 92-90. However their fans expected easier game. The game without a history. BK Usti nad Labem led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. BK Usti nad Labem outrebounded BK Loko Plzen 42-28 including 18 on the offensive glass. BK Loko Plzen was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Thaddeus McFadden (188-87, college: Fairmont St., agency: Stanley International) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points. His fellow American import forward Brad Reese (198-88, college: Texas Tech, agency: TM Sports) helped adding 11 points and 9 rebounds. Reese is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. At the losing side the former international guard Stepan Vrubl (186-76) responded with 17 points and 8 assists and forward Ladislav Pecka (197-91) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Four BK Usti nad Labem and five BK Loko Plzen players scored in double figures. BK Loko Plzen's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Newly promoted BK Usti nad Labem maintains fifth place in A2 with 14-24 record. Loser BK Loko Plzen keeps the seventh position with 29 games lost. BK Usti nad Labem will face league's second-placed Levice at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BK Loko Plzen will play against Basketbal Svitavy (#4).
