Second Stage Round 8: Loko Plzen - Chomutov 79-74

There was a small surprise when seventh ranked BK Loko Plzen (10-30) won against at home 4th ranked Levharti Chomutov (16-24) 79-74 on Wednesday. BK Loko Plzen dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Levharti Chomutov's 40. They outrebounded Levharti Chomutov 46-35 including 37 on the defensive glass. Levharti Chomutov was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was forward Ladislav Toth (196-83) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Ladislav Pecka (197-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). American guard Rob Lowery (188-87, college: Dayton) produced 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Jakub Krakovic (205-90) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Levharti Chomutov players scored in double figures. BK Loko Plzen moved-up to sixth place in A2, which they share with Inter Bratislava. Newly promoted Levharti Chomutov keeps the fourth position with 24 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
