Regular Season Round 70: Erie Bay H. - Ft.Wayne MA 112-101

The Erie BayHawks took the lead with five minutes remaining in the first quarter and never looked back, downing the Fort Wayne Mad Ants by a final score of 112-101. The win boosts Erie’s record to 26-21 as they continue to fight for a coveted spot in the NBA Development League playoffs. Fort Wayne (12-35) scored the game’s first four points before the BayHawks went on an 11-4 burst. Trailing by one with five minutes remaining in the first, Dominic Calegari buried two consecutive three point shots to put Erie ahead for good. Calegari’s eight first quarter points lead the BayHawks, as they took a 26-20 advantage into the second frame. Erie’s lead would blossom to 16 by the intermission courtesy of 14 first half points from Joey Graham. The BayHawks would take their largest lead of the game, a 24 point advantage midway through the third. The resilient Mad Ants went on a 10-2 run, spanning the third and fourth quarters, trimming the lead to ten points. The BayHawks were able to bounce back and take control of the game before cruising to an eleven point victory. D.J. Kennedy continued his terrific play, pouring in 25 points, grabbing nine rebounds and dishing out six assists. Kyle Goldcamp pitched in with a double-double (18 points and 15 rebounds), Joey Graham and Keith McLeod both added 16 and Calegari finished with a season-high 13 points. Fort Wayne had a well-balanced attack as seven Mad Ants scored in double figures, led by Graham’s twin brother, Stephen’s 16 points.
