The most exciting game of round 14 in the ASEAN League took place in Jakarta. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 4th ranked Indonesian Satria Muda (7-8) to second ranked Filipino Petron Blaze (11-4) 71-69 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Satria Muda. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-69. Petron Blaze dominated on the defensive end, holding Satria Muda to just 5 points in second quarter. Strangely Satria Muda outrebounded Petron Blaze 50-37 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. American power forward Jarrid Famous (210-88, college: S.Florida) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Santiago Cabatu chipped in 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Petron Blaze's coach Ato Agustin used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward Steve Thomas (204-81, college: Middle Tenn.St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 17 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import forward Jonathan Smith (206-82, college: Bowie St.) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 17 rebounds. Petron Blaze maintains second position with 11-4 record behind leader Philip.Patriots. Satria Muda at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. Petron Blaze are looking forward to face KL Dragons (#3) in Kuala Lumpur in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Satria Muda will play on the road against Saigon Heat and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
