There was a small surprise when eighth ranked B&W Opava (9-31) beat on the road 6th ranked Inter Bratislava (10-30) 85-68 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 11 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 17 points. B&W Opava dominated on the defensive end, holding Inter Bratislava to just 5 points in third quarter. They made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. B&W Opava forced 26 Inter Bratislava turnovers. Inter Bratislava was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was forward Martin Vanak (200-87) who scored 26 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Jakub Blazek (203-80) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Irish-Serbian power forward Mihajlo Pesic (206-81, agency: Court Side) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and Bosnian center Stjepan Gavran (206-78) added 16 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. B&W Opava maintains eighth position in A2 with 9-31 record. Inter Bratislava lost fourth consecutive game.
