Regular Season Round 25: Lavrio - OFI 91-89 OT

Lavrio (14-11) escaped against OFI (13-12) in overtime by two points 91-89 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime then OFI managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Lavrio who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 13-11. Forward Nikos Psileas (200-80) fired 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Naturalized Cypriot guard Vassilis Kounas (195-84) chipped in 19 points. American-Icelandic guard Darrel Lewis (192-76, college: Lincoln, MO, agency: Two Points) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and Cypriot guard Andreas Sizopoulos (189-83) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. OFI's coach Chris Hugaz rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lavrio moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Arkadikos. Newly promoted OFI dropped to the eighth position with 12 games lost. Lavrio will face Periko/Arhelaos (#12) in Perikos in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. OFI will play at home against Doxa Lefkadas (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
