Regular Season Round 70: Los Angeles D. - Bakersfield J. 93-87

The Los Angeles D-Fenders grabbed the lead in the first minute of the second quarter and did not trail for the remainder of the game as they topped the Bakersfield Jam 93-87 at Toyota Sports Center on Saturday night. After playing to a tie at the end of the first quarter, Los Angeles (35-12) smothered Bakersfield on the defensive end in the second frame and entered halftime up by 17 points. While the D-Fenders were outscored by 13 points in the third quarter, they finished the game by holding the Jam (27-19), who shot 36.5 percent from the field on the night, to just 36.8 percent shooting in the fourth. On the offensive end, Elijah Millsap (18 points, 10 assists) and Orien Greene (18 points [7-14 FG]) guided the D-Fenders for much of the game. Additionally, Otis George posted a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double, Kareem Rush totaled 13 points to go with five rebounds, and Christian Eyenga finished with 10 points (5-8 FG) and eight rebounds in the win. Bakersfield's (27-19) Brian Butch paced his team with 12 points along with 12 rebounds, and Travis Leslie (11 points, 6 rebounds), Derrick Byars (11 points, 6 rebounds), Renaldo Major (11 points) and Adrian Thomas (11 points) all contributed double-digit efforts. After slipping up to Bakersfield on Friday night, Los Angeles bounced back tonight for their 18th win in 20 games. The D-Fenders return to action Wednesday, April 4th to take on the Reno Bighorns in their final regular season home game.
