An interesting game for Asseco Prokom (5-2) which hosted in Gdynia 3rd placed Zastal ZG (4-3). First ranked Asseco Prokom managed to get a 8-point victory 77-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zastal ZG. It was a key game for the top position in Group A. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 37-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Asseco Prokom dominated on the defensive end, holding Zastal ZG to just 7 points in third quarter. 32 personal fouls committed by Zastal ZG helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian power forward Donatas Motiejunas (213-90, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. American guard Jerel Blassingame (175-81, college: UNLV) contributed with 14 points and 5 assists for the winners. Asseco Prokom's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ivorian-Puerto Rican point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) answered with 16 points and 4 assists and American forward Thomas Mobley (195-81, college: Charleston) added 9 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Zastal ZG. Defending champion maintains first place in Group A with 5-2 record, which they share with Trefl Sopot. Zastal ZG at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. Asseco Prokom is looking forward to face Energa Czarni (#5) in Slupsk in the next round. Zastal ZG will play at home against Anwil in Wloclawek and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
