Filipino leader Philippine Patriots delivered the thirteenth victory. This time they beat 6th ranked Thailand Bangkok Cobras (5-9) 84-78. It looked good early as Bangkok Cobras took an 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Philippine Patriots had a 25-13 second period charge getting the lead and Bangkok Cobras were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 78-84. Philippine Patriots brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. It was a quality performance for American center Nakiea Miller (204-79, college: Iona) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 9 blocks. His fellow American import swingman Anthony Johnson (197-79, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 22 points and 6 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) for the winning side. Philippine Patriots' coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American-Guyanese Travis George (206-85) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and American power forward Gentry Lewis (206-81, college: Philander Smith) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Bangkok Cobras in the defeat. Four Philippine Patriots and five Bangkok Cobras players scored in double figures. Philippine Patriots (13-2) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place. Bangkok Cobras lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. Philippine Patriots' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Petron Blaze in Manila and it will be for sure the game of the week. Bangkok Cobras' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Bangkok Thailand Slammers.
