Second Stage Round 8: Energa Czarni - Asseco Prok. 73-76

The most exciting game of round 8 in the PLK took place in Slupsk. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Energa Czarni (2-6) to first ranked Asseco Prokom (6-2) 76-73 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 20-16 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jerel Blassingame (175-81, college: UNLV) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and international center Adam Hrycaniuk (206-84, college: Cincinnati, agency: Alti Sport) who added 14 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Asseco Prokom players scored in double figures. Asseco Prokom's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard Stanley Burrell (190-84) responded with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and naturalized Lithuanian guard Mantas Cesnauskis (189-81) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Defending champion maintains first position in Group A with 6-2 record, which they share with Trefl Sopot. Energa Czarni lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with PGE Turow. Asseco Prokom is looking forward to face PGE Turow (#6) in Zgorzelec in the next round where they are favorite. Energa Czarni will play on the road against Anwil in Wloclawek and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
