The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-10. But Rivas Ecopolis won third quarter 17-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Belgian center Ann Wauters (194-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Forward Maya Moore (182-89, college: Connecticut) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Ros Casares' coach Roberto Iniguez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Asjha Jones (188-80, college: Connecticut) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Essence Carson (183-86, college: Rutgers) added 14 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side.
