There was no surprise when 12th ranked Vendee Challans (14-16) was defeated on the road by ninth ranked Etendard de Brest (16-14) 90-76 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they stormed back winning next two quarters and won the game by 14 points. Etendard de Brest outrebounded Vendee Challans 43-24 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Vendee Challans was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Guard Johan Rathieuville (177-85) had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian forward Vaidotas Pridotkas (200-84) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was center Nils Gouacide (208-84) with 16 points and point guard Sebastien Cherasse (184-84) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Vendee Challans' coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Etendard de Brest maintains ninth position with 16-14 record. Vendee Challans lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with 16 games lost.
