Regular Season Round 39: Dnipro - Khimik 79-73

Another exciting game for Dnipro (21-17) which hosted in Dnepropetrovsk against 4th placed Khimik (22-16). Eighth ranked Dnipro won 79-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Khimik. Khimik was ahead by 7 points after three quarters before a 26-13 charge of Dnipro, which allowed them to win the game. They made 24-of-28 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Khimik was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for international guard Steven Burtt (185-84, college: Iona) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). American swingman Qyntel Woods (203-81, college: N.Mississippi JC) helped adding 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Dnipro players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Aaron McGhee (203-79, college: Oklahoma) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import point guard Darrel Mitchell (181-84, college: LSU, agency: Beo Basket) scored 15 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Dnipro moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Hoverla. Khimik at the other side keeps the fourth position with 16 games lost. They share it with BC Odessa and Ferro-ZNTU. Dnipro will play against higher ranked Azovmash (#3) in Mariupol in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Khimik will play at home against Cherkasy and hopes to get back on the winning track.
