The game without a history. Joensuun Kataja led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Joensuun Kataja made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Salon Vilpas was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Juho Nenonen (202-87) nailed 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and American swingman Jared Newson (195-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Pro One Sports) accounted for 15 points and 7 rebounds. Five Joensuun Kataja players scored in double figures. American forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import guard Emmanuel Holloway (188-86, college: Illinois St.) added 8 points and 5 assists respectively for Salon Vilpas in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
