The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Energa Czarni's (2-7) road loss to fourth ranked Anwil (4-5) 55-71 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-55. The best player for the winners was international guard Dardan Berisha (192-88, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) who scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. The former international guard Krzysztof Szubarga (182-84) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Anwil's coach Krzysztof Szablowski used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Stanley Burrell (190-84) who recorded 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Canadian center Scott Morrison (212-86, college: Portland St.) added 8 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Anwil maintains fourth place in Group A with 4-5 record. Energa Czarni lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Anwil will face PGE Turow (#6) in Zgorzelec in the next round. Energa Czarni will play at home against Zastal ZG in Zielona Gora and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
