The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Northland won third quarter 20-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Northland used huge pressure winning it 20-15 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 8-9. They outrebounded Northland 51-38 including 21 on the offensive glass. Center Amanda Zahui (190-93) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 23 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman LaTangela Atkinson (188-84, college: N.Carolina) chipped in 14 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. International guard Frida Aili (179-88) responded with 22 points and Brazilian swingman Silvia Santos Luz (173-75, agency: Josep and Nicolas) scored 14 points and 7 assists.
