Fifth-ranked Mineros de Cananea (9-11) was very close to win a game against second ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (15-5) on Saturday. Ostioneros de Guaymas managed to secure only nine-point victory 118-109. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime then Mineros de Cananea managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Ostioneros de Guaymas who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 14-5. They were well out of reach of Mineros de Cananea shooting 79.6 percent from the field and made 28-of-36 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game, while Mineros de Cananea only scored twelve points from the stripe.
