The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-13. But KTP-Basket won third quarter 23-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tampereen Pyrinto made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. KTP-Basket was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Kenneth Lowe (192-80, college: Purdue) who led the winners and scored 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Damon Williams (201-73, college: Colorado St.-Pueblo, agency: Two Points) accounted for 8 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Tim Blue (205-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) came up with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Juho-Matti Lehtoranta (194-89) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for KTP-Basket in the defeat. Four KTP-Basket players scored in double figures.
