Quarter-Finals Round 3: Kataja - Salon Vilpas 85-68
Date: April 14, 2012
The game was mostly controlled by Joensuun Kataja. Salon Vilpas managed to win fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Joensuun Kataja had a 29-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Salon Vilpas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American forward Jeremy Price (203-88, college: Georgia, agency: Strategic Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). His fellow American import swingman Jared Newson (195-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Pro One Sports) helped adding 16 points. The best for the losing side was American forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and the former international forward Jukka Kataja (197-82) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
