Regular Season Round 31: Challans - Souffel 63-70

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Vendee Challans (14-17) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Souffelweyersheim (23-8) 70-63 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Vendee Challans won third quarter 23-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for guard Frederic Broliron (193-79) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points. Swingman Jessie Begarin (190-88, agency: Court Side) helped adding 12 points and 5 assists. At the losing side point guard Sebastien Cherasse (184-84) responded with 21 points and forward Fabien Herard (198-79) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Souffelweyersheim. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Charleville and Orchy. Vendee Challans lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with 17 games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Souffelweyersheim will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Vendee Challans will play against Le Puy ASMB (#17) in Le Puy en Velay and hope to secure a win.
