Finals Game 3: Telge - Northland 78-67
Date: April 14, 2012
Telge outplayed Northland 78-67 in Game Three winning the Finals with perfect 3-0. It means that Telge defended the title which they won last season. The game was mostly controlled by Telge. Northland managed to win fourth quarter 18-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American swingman LaTangela Atkinson (188-84, college: N.Carolina) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Her fellow American import point guard Brittney Thomas (179-89, college: Michigan St.) helped adding 18 points. Telge's coach Jens Tillman used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international forward Anna Barthold (183-80, college: St.Peter's, agency: Josep and Nicolas) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and international guard Frida Aili (179-88) scored 18 points. Telge was the regular season champion with 6-0 record in the second stage. They eliminated Sallen with 3-0 in the Semis.
