Very important is a road loss of second ranked Akita Happinets (28-22) against sixth ranked Shimane Magic (26-24) on Sunday night. Visiting Akita Happinets were defeated by Shimane Magic in a tough game in Shimane 79-85. It looked good early as Akita Happinets took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Shimane Magic had a 18-11 second period charge getting the lead and Akita Happinets were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 79-85. Shimane Magic made 23-of-29 charity shots (79.3 percent) during the game. Shimane Magic outrebounded Akita Happinets 49-31 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 21 rebounds. The other American import forward Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St., agency: I.D.S. Law) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Ricky Woods (194-84, college: SE Louisiana) replied with 41 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and American-Kittitian forward Kyle Swanston (201-86, college: JMU, agency: SDJ Sports) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Akita Happinets. Shimane Magic maintains sixth position with 26-24 record. Akita Happinets at the other side keep the second place with 22 games lost. Shimane Magic will have a break next round. Akita Happinets will play on the road against Iwate Big Bulls.
