Second Stage Round 10: Energa Czarni - Stelmet ZG 83-81

The most exciting game of round 10 in the PLK took place in Slupsk. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 3rd ranked Zastal ZG (6-4) to fifth ranked Energa Czarni (3-7) 83-81 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Zastal ZG. The hosts trailed by 17 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-81. Energa Czarni made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Zastal ZG outrebounded Energa Czarni 31-19 including 20 on the defensive glass. 26 personal fouls committed by Zastal ZG helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Stanley Burrell (190-84) who helped to win the game recording 17 points. Naturalized Lithuanian guard Mantas Cesnauskis (189-81) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!) for the winners. American center Kirk Archibeque (205-84, college: Fort Lewis, agency: Hart Sports Mngm) replied with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and Ivorian-Puerto Rican point guard Walter Hodge (183-86, college: Florida) added 27 points and 7 assists in the effort for Zastal ZG. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Energa Czarni maintains fifth position in Group A with 3-7 record. Zastal ZG at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Trefl Sopot.
