Maccabi Beer Yaakov shot down Hod Hasharon to take 1-0 lead. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 59-36 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Beer Yaakov shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. It was a very good performance for point guard Yoad Bet-Yosef (182-87) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!), 6 assists and 4 steals. American guard Nate Miller (193-87, college: Bowling Green) contributed with 29 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Beer Yaakov's coach Idan Plada felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Anthony Johnson (203-88, college: Fairfield) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and naturalized American guard Charles Dewhurst (195-87, college: Charlotte) added 24 points and 4 assists in the effort for Hod Hasharon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
