Penarol advanced to Liga A Semifinals. They handed 88-67 loss to Estudiantes in crucial Game Five of the Semis winning the series with 3-2. Marcos Mata (201-F-86) stepped up for the hosts with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Martin Leiva (207-F/C-80) had 17 points and 6 boards, while Kyle Lamonte (191-G-84, college: William Carey) added 14 pts and 5 rebs. In the loosing squad, Jerome Meyinsse (206-F/C-88, college: Virginia) collected 21 points and 6 rebounds. Ricardo Sanchez (212-C-87) (6 rebs) and Lucas Faggiano (187-PG-89, college: LIU Brooklyn) (8 rebs) scored 15 and 12 points respectively. Penarol will meet Libertad in the Semis. It will be another best-of-five series. The first game is scheduled for April 25. Libertad will have the home court advantage in this series.
