The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Taranto won fourth quarter 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Taranto 39-27 including 25 on the defensive glass. American center Shamela Hampton (191-87, college: UNLV) stepped up and scored 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and her fellow American import power forward Courtney Willis (188-82, college: E.Carolina, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 8 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side American center Kia Vaughn (193-87, college: Rutgers) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Giorgia Sottana (177-88) scored 15 points.
