Maccabi Beer Yaakov advanced into the next round following a road win over Hod Hasharon. The guests trailed by 13 points at the halftime before their 35-16 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Beer Yaakov made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Hod Hasharon turnovers. Strangely Hod Hasharon outrebounded Beer Yaakov 41-28 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Yoad Bet-Yosef (182-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points and 4 steals. American guard Nate Miller (193-87, college: Bowling Green) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Naturalized American guard Charles Dewhurst (195-87, college: Charlotte) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized Latvian swingman Gary Gandel (203-80) added 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Hod Hasharon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
