BM Wegiel Stal rallied past AZS Katowice for the opening win. AZS AWF K-ce was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. BM Wegiel Stal forced 22 AZS AWF K-ce turnovers and outrebounded them 38-23 including 28 on the defensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Guard Marcin Dymala (185-90) nailed 26 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals for the winning side and the former international forward Wojciech Szawarski (195-76) accounted for 14 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Kamil Nowak (196-88) came up with 20 points and 7 rebounds and guard Mateusz Dziemba (194-92) added 20 points respectively for AZS AWF K-ce in the defeat. Four AZS AWF K-ce players scored in double figures. AZS AWF K-ce's coach Miroslaw Stawowski tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game.
