The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Panelefsiniakos (21-6) in Eleusina on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Ikaroi Serron (17-10) 89-76. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Panelefsiniakos. The game was mostly controlled by Ikaroi Serron. Panelefsiniakos managed to win fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ikaroi Serron made 30-of-34 free shots (88.2 percent) during the game, while Panelefsiniakos only scored fourteen points from the stripe. 27 personal fouls committed by Panelefsiniakos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for forward Filipp Simeonidis (204-80, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Power forward Evaggelis Margaritis (202-82) helped adding 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Ikaroi Serron players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Nikos Mantzioris (197-83) with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds and guard Giannis Kyriakopoulos (185-83) scored 17 points and 6 assists. Panelefsiniakos' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Ikaroi Serron have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place, which they share with AEK. Panelefsiniakos at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. Ikaroi Serron is looking forward to face Ermis Lagkada (#10) in Lagadas in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Panelefsiniakos will play on the road against Perama Ermis (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
