Not a big story in a game when 17th ranked Le Puy ASMB (5-27) lost to thirteenth ranked Vendee Challans (15-17) in Le Puy en Velay 57-68 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Vendee Challans. Le Puy ASMB managed to win third quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Le Puy ASMB 41-30 including 26 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by forward Fabien Herard (198-79) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Sebastien Cherasse (184-84) supported him with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Vendee Challans' coach Olivier Le Minor used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds by forward Yohann Smail (197-90) did not help to save the game for Le Puy ASMB. Center Steeve Borval (202-87) added 14 points for the hosts. Vendee Challans moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Lievin. Loser Le Puy ASMB keeps the seventeenth position with 27 games lost. Vendee Challans will meet at home Rueil (#13) in the next round. Le Puy ASMB will play against Roche (#3) and hope to secure a win.
