Rather expected game when 7th ranked Brujos (7-17) were defeated on the road by fourth ranked Quebradillas (14-10) 83-79 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 9 points at the halftime before their 48-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Quebradillas made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Shavlik Randolph (208-83, college: Duke) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds. The former international guard David Huertas (195-87, college: Mississippi) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Five Quebradillas players scored in double figures. American forward Josh Powell (206-83, college: N.Carolina St., agency: Strategic Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import forward Al Thornton (203-83, college: Florida St.) added 17 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Brujos' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Quebradillas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Bayamon. Brujos at the other side keep the seventh position with 17 games lost. Quebradillas will face Mets (#6) in Guaynabo in the next round. Brujos will play at home against Mets in Guaynabo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
