Regular Season Round 29: Banvit BK - Aliaga 101-77

Very expected game when 7th ranked Aliaga (14-15) was smashed by second ranked Banvit BK (24-5) in Balikesir 101-77 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 101-77. Banvit BK looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American center Lance Williams (206-80, college: De Paul) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 6 rebounds. Bosnian forward Kenan Bajramovic (206-81) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Banvit BK players scored in double figures. Banvit BK's coach Orhun Ene felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international forward Ersin Goerkem (195-77) answered with 26 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Azerbaijani power forward Orhan Haciyeva (201-89) added 18 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Aliaga. Banvit BK have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Galatasaray. Aliaga at the other side keeps the seventh place with 15 games lost. Banvit BK will face Olin Edirne (#14) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Aliaga will play against the league's leader Galatasaray (#1) in Istanbul.
