Semi-Finals Game 3: Ikaros Kalitheas - Panathinaikos 75-81
Date: April 22, 2012
The team of head coach Giasemi Siamandoura , Panathinaikos Athens is the team to partner up with Athinaikos in these seasons finals. Panathinaikos Athens is officially at finals after the amazing road win succeeded over Ravenna Esperides / Glyfada after breaking the home court advantage of Coach Giorgos Leivadis's team earlier this evening. Panathinaikos Athens not only tie the series after 'surviving' the first negative result but the players of Siamandoura were able to find the strength and the psychology to reshaped the score from 0-1 to 2-1!! Giasemi Siamandoura saw Afroditi Afroditi Kosma (187-F/C-83) in a great game against Ravenna Esperides / Glyfada who followed in all the aspects the American Diana Delva (188-F/C-88, college: Hartford) who was once more the top performer for her team while a from a very close distance were Elena Vlani (174-G-86) with her solid game and her great organizational skills. Panathinaikos Athens was behind the score only at the first period but after that the passion of the Greens was the main ingredient of the game plus the great percentages from the arc for the Greens as they had 9/17 three pointers and that was the main difference of the two teams. The players of Panathinaikos Athens run a decisive 7-0 in the last minute of the game to put a tombstone in the dreams of Ravenna Esperides / Glyfada and Williams who was great but unbelievably alone as only Theoni Tzegianaki (162-G-85) and is some parts Evgenia Loukatou (184-F-92) were following Panathinaikos Athens had five players in double digits but Afroditi Kosma was the stand out as her 16 points and 12 rebounds helped the team of Panathinaikos Athens to keep the deficit took at the beginning while the mature game by Elena Vlani and the points by Diana Delva covered up the not so good night from Chelsie Schweers (170-G, college: Christ.Newport) who remain pointless in a critical game for the Greens. *Bu Chris Mammides
