Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Singapore Singapore Slingers and 6th ranked Thailand Bangkok Cobras had identical 6-9 record. This time Singapore Slingers used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Bangkok 95-78. The game was mostly controlled by Singapore Slingers. Bangkok Cobras was better in third quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bangkok Cobras to just 7 points in second quarter. Singapore Slingers dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Bangkok Cobras' 34 and made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Singapore Slingers forced 24 Bangkok Cobras turnovers. Bangkok Cobras were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Kyle Jeffers (207-85, college: Oregon St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Louis Graham (205-84) chipped in 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Singapore Slingers players scored in double figures. American power forward Gentry Lewis (206-81, college: Philander Smith) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and Filipino guard Jai Reyes (173) scored 21 points and 4 assists. Bangkok Cobras' coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Singapore Slingers maintains fifth place with 7-9 record. Bangkok Cobras at the other side keep the sixth position with ten games lost. They share it with Saigon H.. Singapore Slingers will play against league's leader Petron Blaze in Manila in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bangkok Cobras will play at home against KL Dragons (#4) in Kuala Lumpur and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
