The game without a history. Joensuun Kataja led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Joensuun Kataja made 34-of-42 charity shots (81.0 percent) during the game, while Torpan Pojat only scored eleven points from the stripe. They outrebounded Torpan Pojat 45-28 including a 32-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Torpan Pojat was plagued by 34 personal fouls down the stretch. American swingman Jared Newson (195-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Pro One Sports) notched 21 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) to lead the effort and the other American import forward Jeremy Price (203-88, college: Georgia, agency: Strategic Sports) supported him with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Four Joensuun Kataja players scored in double figures. Even 9 points and 6 rebounds by American-Spanish swingman Ronald Clark (196-81, college: Colorado St., agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for Torpan Pojat. Forward Carl Lindbom (206-91) added 11 points for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
