Regular Season Round 119: Phoenix Suns - San Antonio S. 106-110
Date: April 25, 2012
Patrick Mills had a career-high 27 points and Tiago Splitter added a career-best 26 as visiting San Antonio kept alive a chance to get the NBA's overall No. 1 playoff seed with a victory over Phoenix. In what could have been his final game for Phoenix, veteran point guard Steve Nash left the game with 3:30 remaining to deafening applause. The free-agent-to-be had eight points and seven assists. He is a free agent this summer. The Spurs (49-16), who have won nine in a row, can clinch the top seed with a victory Thursday and a loss by Chicago. Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili all were rested and will sit out again Thursday when the Spurs end the regular season at Golden State. "I opt for health," coach Gregg Popovich said before the game. "Our health is more important than the final record." The Spurs can extend their 50-win season streak to a league-record 13 seasons. They are tied with the Lakers (1979-91) at 12. Shannon Brown had 21 points for the Suns (33-33) and Sebastian Telfair had 20. *Courtesy of www.chicagotribune.com
