The game was mostly controlled by Matera. Mazzeo San Severo was better in third quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Mazzeo San Severo to just 7 points in second quarter. Matera shot 62.8 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Matera especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Andrea Pilotti (196-80, agency: Players Group) who scored 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Center Raffaele Martone (207-90) chipped in 8 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Francesco Amoroso (202-78) produced 19 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and swingman Giovanni Rugolo (196-81) added 11 points and 4 steals respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
