AZS Poznan advanced into the next round following the second straight win over Open Florentyna. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Open Florentyna won third quarter 13-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AZS PP Poznan held Open Florentyna to an opponent 23.5 percent shooting from the field compared to 32.8 percent accuracy of the winners. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when AZS PP Poznan made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was point guard Pawel Hybiak (173-89) who scored 22 points and 4 assists. Forward Michal Szydlowski (198-87) chipped in 6 points and 13 rebounds. Power forward Wojciech Zurawski (199-76) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Karol Debski (198-84, agency: Promotex) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
