ASEAN League top team - Filipino Petron Blaze (15-4) added another victory to their record on Wednesday. This time they beat fifth ranked Singapore Singapore Slingers (7-10) in Manila 68-64. The hosts trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 24-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Petron Blaze made 7 blocks. American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 19 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Chris Banchero (185, college: Seattle Pacific, agency: VVG Sports) chipped in 13 points and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American power forward Louis Graham (205-84) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and Filipino guard Donald Dulay (173-80) scored 17 points, 7 assists and 5 steals. Petron Blaze have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 15-4 record. Singapore Slingers at the other side keep the fifth place with ten games lost. Petron Blaze are looking forward to face Bangkok Cobras (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Singapore Slingers will play against Saigon Heat and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
